Illuminate Arts Event

Blue Mountains Grammar School students started their semester off with a bang with their multi-disciplinary arts event, ‘Illuminate’. Megadeck not only supplied and installed the curved stage extension, the tiered audience seating risers and the black velvet theatre drapes, but also provided professional advice, creative ideas and technical support from pre-production right through to bump out.

Creating an elevated backdrop to allowed the talented and creative students at Blue Mountains Grammar School to shine. The intent of the performance was to bring light and joy into the school and local community after some very challenging times. The collaboration of the Drama and Music departments created an opportunity to showcase the region’s most talented actors, singers, musicians, dancers, and filmmakers and create an evening of illuminating performances.

The event took place at Cuff Hall at the school’s Wentworth Falls Campus and with the help and support of the Megadeck team, the space was transformed to house audiences up to 300 pax and stage adaptations of some classics plays such as Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘Iolanthe’ and William Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’. The program also highlighted solo dance performances, musical duets, BMGS’s Music ensembles as well as screening several short films.
