School Play Stage
Drama students from SCEGGS (Sydney Church of England Girls Grammar School) in Darlinghurst take pleasure in presenting an annual stage play for family and friends. The school prides itself on offering students a varied curriculum and co-curriculum as well as encouraging the development of self confidence and poise.
The participation in drama helps the students to develop acting and team participation skills, as well as being fun. They work hard throughout the school year with all their study and practice culminating in this special performance, allowing them to display and share their accumulated talents.
The performance venue is equipped with a permanent stage which is undoubtedly functional and used for many activities in its fixed state. For the annual play however, it was necessary to increase the height of the existing stage to provide optimal sightlines for the audience. Megadeck stages were used to create temporary staging on top of the existing platform.
We provided two tiers to create a split-level stage for the performance. Each level had its own set of stairs for access. Stairs covered stage right, stage left and downstage (front) to create easy access to all areas for the students.
Due to its portability and easy installation, Megadeck staging is frequently used in school plays and events. It can be purposed for semi-permanent usage as in this example where additional height or space is required for permanent stages.
If you need to add extra height, levels or performance space to an existing fixed stage, you need the versatility of Megadecks modular staging. We service NSW, VIC, and QLD with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
